When winter rolls around each year, trying to maintain your fitness routine can become a bit more of a chore than anything else. The daylight hours grow shorter and the chill in the air can make staying in bed far more inviting than it once was, but don't let this discourage you. Here are four ways to help keep your fitness routine regular this winter.

Get Organised
Make sure to plan your workout routine ahead of time and add it to your schedule in order to stay organised. During the warmer months, a spontaneous jog is far more simple, however, during the colder months, it can be more than tempting to just stay in. Set alarms in the mornings or evenings as a reminder and stick to them!

Wardrobe on the Go
Planning is essential to stay organised in each aspect of our lives and when it comes to our health and fitness, there are a few key tricks to help us be prepared and save time. Having your workout wardrobe ready and waiting to go each evening will save you time during the morning chaos as well as to ensure that you have everything you need. Pack your workout clothes into a gym bag to keep in your car if you plan to work out after work. Read more about wardrobes-on-the-go here: http://ow.ly/lkrC30oO1ej

Gym Memberships vs Outdoor Activities
Whether or not you sign up for a gym membership is a good investment will vary from person to person. Questions to ask include; what are your fitness goals? Do you like the general vibe of a gym? What can you afford? During winter, there is one benefit to having a gym membership that can't be ignored, the warmth. If the chilly and dark hours of the mornings and evening discourage you from working out, a gym is a perfect place to stay fit.

Take it Easy
Remember to listen to your body when it comes to working out during winter. If you experience any warning signs of flu or other sicknesses, take a couple of days off from working out as you don't want to overwork your body or make anyone else sick. Give your body the time it needs to recover and plan your workouts around what your body needs. Remember that staying fit and keeping healthy includes a balanced diet, plenty of water, enough sleep and a good exercise routine, regardless of the season. So let's get ready to stay fit this winter!
